Like many of our clients this year, we’ve tackled a range of projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Our goal is to keep adding client value and supporting client growth through leading-edge solutions and services that enable companies to capitalize on the best in customer communications management and digital payments.
Here are some of our biggest accomplishments:
Introduced MMS text messaging
Multi-media messaging service (MMS), now available in our patented cloud CCM platform Expresso®, expands the possibilities for clients to engage customers and present brand-forward calls to action via text. MMS allows companies to add images, logos, links and messages of up to 1,000 characters. Traditional text-only messages, also known as short message service (SMS), limit messages to 160 characters, including links.
Added Expresso Mail Tracking
This new capability leverages USPS’ Intelligent Mail® barcodes (IMb) and the Informed Visibility® Mail Tracking and Reporting (IV®-MTR) system, with Expresso automatically delivering near-real-time status updates of domestic mailings, down to the individual communication, anywhere in the mail stream.
Enhanced Expresso®
- We are rearchitecting the Expresso database to increase processing speed, system responsiveness and customer experience, and one outcome is enhanced Expresso custom tables that give clients greater functionality and efficiency when editing.
- We’ve optimized PDFs in Expresso with new software that improves management, reduces file size and improves processing and production speed to create optimal outputs for production quality.
New, bigger Las Vegas print production and mail facility
We moved to a new 30,000-square foot facility, doubling our print production and mail processing capacity in Las Vegas with no interruption to our production schedule or productivity.
Invested in cutting-edge production equipment
With twin goals of creating no-touch workflows to increase productivity, safety and speed and strengthening business continuity, we’ve added:
- Blue Crest Epic high-speed inserters in Coral Springs and in Las Vegas in 2025
- An additional Ricoh VC 40000 high-speed, roll-fed inkjet printer
- Production management software automating job-level tracking at any point in the process through turning mail over to USPS.
The print equipment enables roll-to-roll printing, without requiring manual loading of each roll by our operators. The new inserters accept rolls from the printers as well as cut sheets. They can insert up to 10,000 pieces an hour from cut sheets and cut and insert 22,000 pieces an hour from rolls. The results: Faster volume throughput of client jobs.
Moving from metered mail to permit indicia
Rather than using postal meters to apply postage, we are converting to permit indicia which involves funds coming out of an account as opposed to being printed on the envelopes. Because meters cannot keep up with our increased production speed with the new inserters, this change is necessary.
Our transition to permit indicia has begun with a few clients and with #10 envelopes and presorted First-Class mail. We will move to other envelopes, mail classifications and existing programs in 2025.
Even bigger, faster and better in 2025
As we close 2024 with another year of strong double-digit growth and major new client wins, our improvement initiatives have laid the groundwork for greater achievements in 2025.
For one, we are taking production tracking to a new level in early 2025. After automating job level tracking this year, we are implementing piece-level tracking of all jobs. We will be able to inform clients about any job or piece of mail anywhere in process in real-time and manage quality at a new and improved level.
Another exciting advance: We are developing a bundle of Expresso software enhancements that will take performance and CX to a new level. More on that later in 2025.
